A rally against oppression held in Osaka

On February 3, a protest rally against the state oppression was held in Osaka. Since September 2012, the Osaka Prefectural Police has arrested 11 ordinary citizens including Masaki Shimoji, an associate professor of economics at Hannan University, who protest against the government's policy of “areawide management of the disaster debris” measure. This government policy has intended to spread, incinerate and bury harmful substances in the disaster debris all over Japan that should not be incinerated, such as radioactive material and asbestos. Osaka-city is trying to begin regular incineration and burial beginning this month.
